A beautiful antique rose gold solitaire ring set with a large oval shaped Australian opal. The opal is beautifully coloured with striations of pastel colours embedded into the stone. 

The opal is framed by four tiny diamonds that sparkle alongside the main stone when worn.

The ring is not hallmarked and was most likely commissioned for its original wearer to showcase the amazing opal. It dates to the early 20th century.

The ring has been polished to remove some age related surface wear and is in good antique condition.
